Spent six weeks in 2016 working as a commercial fisherman aboard a two-person skiff catching sockeye salmon in Kvichak Bay, Alaska. (We were based in an abandoned cannery called "Graveyard Point; so named because of the 100+ year old caskets falling out of the cemetery due to erosion and tidal forces.) Over the course of the summer, we hand-picked 30 tons of salmon from 300 foot long set-nets (as the weaker fisherman, I was likely only responsible for 11 tons of that, at best).
